The Mersey Forest
About
The Mersey Forest is a growing network of woodlands and green spaces across Merseyside and North Cheshire, which has been creating ‘woodlands on your doorstep’ for 20 years.
We work with businesses, landowners and the community in order to increase tree cover in the area – for the benefit of people, wildlife and the economy. We help to reconnect kids with nature by working with schools to develop school woodlands, and plant street trees along key commuting routes to boost local economies.
Key projects in St Helens over the last 20 years have included the creation of Bold Forest Park – the transformation of former collieries in the Bold and Clockface area into seven interconnected woodlands.
