Samaritans is a confidential and emotional support service for anyone in the UK and Ireland. The service is available 24 hours a day for people who are experiencing feelings of distress or despair, including those which may lead to suicide. Common reasons to contact Samaritans include relationship and family problems, loss of employment or bereavement, financial worries, stress, work, studies or body image issues.

Calls are answered 24 hours a day. It is recommended (although not compulsory) to ring the branch in advance if you wish to have a face-to-face appointment.
