Sahir House is a multi-cultural support and information centre offering a wide range of services to individuals and families living with, or affected by, HIV in Merseyside. They recognise the stigma and prejudice that surrounds HIV and works in partnership towards a greater understanding of HIV amongst the general public, media and health & social care profession. Sahir House works closely with Body Positive Cheshire and North Wales to provide services to people in St Helens and Halton.
Monthly support groups in St Helens:
Positive Peers - confidential group for local HIV community to meet up to gain support, information and guidance. Meet at the Millennium Centre every first Monday of the month from 2pm to 4.30pm
LGBT group - confidential group for local LGBT community for emotional and practical support and information. Meet at the Millennium Centre every first Thursday of the month from 7pm to 9pm
Sahir House (Liverpool) based services:
Helpline (0151 237 3990) that provides confidential, impartial advice and assistance relating to HIV
Outreach support to visit people in their own homes or out in the community
Information on HIV e.g. leaflets, articles, magazines and research reports
Counselling service provided by fully qualified Counsellors who have experience in working with people who are living with and affected by HIV - this is a confidential and non-judgemental service
Access to one-to-one appointments with specialists (e.g. HIV Community Nurses and HIV Social Workers)
Can also provide complimentary therapies, advocacy, volunteering opportunities and training for professionals

Sahir House encourages access to its services through self-referral. Proof of your relationship to HIV is required.
